The disease of intelligence

Recently I watched a particular movie, Phenomenon by Gerald Di Pego. This movie made me realize that sometimes, intelligence is a handicap for a person. Effectively, in this movie, George Malley, played by John Travolta, is struck by a flash and suddenly becomes intelligent. In his case, knowing much of anything in a short amount of time is negative for him. In this text, I’ll show, with the example of the story of George Malley, how intelligence can be negative.

Firstly, everything is fine for the character before the flash. He has a good life and great friends. When the flash got him, he becomes very smart and people began to get scare of him. In fact, George lives in a small town where everybody knows everybody and people are not very cultivated. When they saw that George was kind of weird, they start to believe he was abnormal like an alien. This intelligence ruined his life because everybody around him that used to be his friends start to have some doubts about him. They know that there was something wrong.

Secondly, yes intelligence can be a great thing to have. In this case, George could solves some problems in his life and in the others life. In sum, intelligence can greatly helped, but it has its place and must be managed.

S.M.A.R.T.

My s.m.a.r.t. dream for this year is to have a great car until march. It will be useful for me for my job and my personal life. With a car, i will feel the freedom and this is why i want it. My dream is clear and specific. I want a car and for this, i will need to put money aside in order to accomplish my s.m.a.r.t. dream. It is measurable, cause i will set an amount of money that i will have to reach (1,500$) and my father will pay the rest. I already know how many i have to reach, because i will buy the car of my mother's friend. I will see my progress week by week cause i will take money of my pay for my dream. Also, i will need to spend less money in my activities and for shopping. This is why it is achierable. Finaly, i will put myself a deadline, cause i want to have my car until march, because i will have my driving license in february. I already started to put money aside and i can't wait to have my car, my freedom.

THE HANDSOMEST DROWNED MAN IN THE WORLD

Recently i read a very good text the handsomest drowned man in the world. This text is very deep and interesting. The author is Gabriel Garcia Marquez. This story tlaks about a who is found on a beach near to a little village. The villagers are in awe towards this stranger because he is so much beautiful. They take care of him and call him Esteban. He will forever mark the history of this village. In this text, the author talks about how beauty can inspire people and make them think bigger. I really agree with Gabriel Garcia Marquez and i think so that beauty is a really important point to make things change in a point of vu artistic and social.

First, this quote from the text '' the tallest, the strongest, most viril and best built man they had ever seen, but even tought they were looking at him there was no room for him in their imagination '' shows how the beautiful appearance of a person can change the way of thinking and acting of some people. He his so beautiful that they can't imagine his beauty! Villagers feel they do not deserve the presence of this man and they want to change. They want to improve their village and honor him. For example, i can make a link with Hollywood stars. They have a huge impact in the life of young teenagers. Only by looking at a picture in a magazine, a girl will want to cut her hair in a way, wear a dress of such colour, etc. They do not even need to talk. Only by the image they convey the beauties have a significant impact in our life. It is the same in the story. Esteban is dead and only his beauty talks for him.

Secondly, this story talks a lot about how someone can change the way people think. In fact, the villagers thought they were worthless and that their life was going nowhere. But when Esteban appears in their daily, they know they must act and they need to improve their life for him. Like in our days, some people are very beautiful and they act to improve our world. For example, Jessica Simpson is a really good looking woman and she helps the PETA to prevent animal rights. In the text, Esteban has a big influence on the villagers and make them think that they are somebody and that if they want; they can be more than a simple villager. Esteban helps them to look forwards.

Finaly, i really agree with the author. The idea of his text is clear and very truth. It is interesting to read it, because we look to the beautiful persons in Hollywood and we think that they are just beautiful. But after reading this text, i can see them in a different way. I enjoy this story and i hoe that beauty will continue to make a difference in the world.

Qué..What ?

In the world, there are many cultural, economic and linguistic differences. Some people took the opportunity to discriminate those who are part of this difference. For example, Quebec versus Canada. In fact, because we are the only french-speaking province in North America, some will say that Québecer are nobody and that they are an harmful minority for Canada. I'm sorry, but i think that Québec is a windfall of wealth in a culturally and economically way.

First, Québec is an important player in the history of Canada. In deed, if the French-Quebecer had not been there, the situation of the Canada would really not be the same as to day. I think that each province has its importance in this Country. In short, we all played an important role in the history and we all deserve some respect.

Secondly, Quebec has much to share at the cultural and economic levels. In fact, we are a really beautiful province with a lot of green space and attractions. Our particular language and customs show that we are a wonderful and authentic population. Moreover, we are a lot active at an ecomnomic point of view, more especially because of Hydro-Quebec. It is our strength.

Finaly, i think that any province deserves to be recognized for what it provide to the other one. Unity is the strength. We should all think about that.

Winter

You're alone in your home. It's cold outside, it's winter. You don't really know what to do. Here's some ideas of activities that you can do with your friends in winter.

First, you can put your ice skating on and go to the ice rink of your neighborhood and play hockey or simply skate. Then, you can come back to your home and drink a delicious hot chocolate.

Second, you can go outside and leave your sled and go sliding in a near park. Then, you can come back to your home and rent a good movie.

Finaly, you can go outside and take a nice long walk to enjoy the fresh air of winter. Then, you can come back to your home and cook some delicious cookies and then eat them.

You know, even if the season of winter seems cold and pretty long, it is always possible to have a lot of fun.
